What is Hemp?

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

Hemp or Industrial Hemp is a variety of Cannabis sativa L.

Hemp is a dioecious plant meaning it can be either male or female plants.

While hemp and marijuana are both considered cannabis, hemp does not produce as much as the intoxifying effects tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that marijuana does. CBD oil is extracted from hemp plants

Industrial Hemp in the U.S.A may not contain more than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol(THC).

Lets's Dive Deeper

  • Hemp does not produce enough THC to intoxify you, but Hemp is rich in producing non-intoxicating cannabidiol (CBD) in high concentrations.

  • Hemp can be used for: textiles, building materials, paper, along with other industrial products.
